Father John Jimenez has served in various positions as a priest, chaplain, and teacher with the Archdiocese of San Francisco for more than two decades. Over this period of time, he has provided religious and academic guidance at local churches and schools. Father John Jimenez has also performed missionary work with the Diocese of Torit, Sudan, in Nairobi, Kenya, and aided patients in both the med/surg trauma and psych units of San Francisco General Hospital as an on-call/visiting chaplain.

For the past two years, Father Jimenez has served as chaplain, as well as a religion and math instructor, for San Francisco’s Archbishop Riordan High School. Recently, he has explored thoughts on a range of secular matters while employing references from both the Bible and popular culture. He recently addressed all citizens of San Francisco through an open letter that appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle on November 5, 2018. This piece covered subjects that ranged from the importance of rent control and affordable housing to the inherent dangers of dehumanizing others.
